چکیده

(1) Background: Amblyopia is an ocular condition leading to structural and functional changes. The relationship between these changes complex remains poorly understood. (2) Methods: Participants included 31 children aged 5 9 years with strabismic (n = 9), anisometropic 16) mixed 6) unilateral amblyopia, 14 age-matched non-amblyopic children. 95% 63% Bivariate Contour Ellipse Area (BCEA), axial length, Foveal Avascular Zone (FAZ) area, center macular thickness volume were assessed. parameters was explored. (3) Results: Statistically significant differences found among the four groups in best corrected distance visual acuity (BCVA) (p < 0.001), BCEA 0.002) 0.002), but not FAZ central thickness, length. Eyes amblyopia had poorer BCVA larger fixation instability than controls. Inter-ocular more patients particularly 0.003), 0.001) 0.002). In amblyopic eyes, correlated BCVA, area. (4) Conclusion: associated a reduction stability although there general lack of correlation changes, suggesting interaction anatomy function amblyopia.

On the relationship between strabismic amblyopia and eccentric fixation.

Landolt C and grating acuity are compared with that normally expected of the eccentric fixation region for 10 strabismic amblyopes. The findings suggest that 2 populations of amblyopes exist. For some amblyopes visual function is that predicted of the eccentric region used for fixation, whereas for other amblyopes there is a further pathological reduction in visual function. These findings may ...

Relating binocular and monocular vision in strabismic and anisometropic amblyopia.

OBJECTIVES To examine deficits in monocular and binocular vision in adults with amblyopia and to test the following 2 hypotheses: (1) Regardless of clinical subtype, the degree of impairment in binocular integration predicts the pattern of monocular acuity deficits. (2) Subjects who lack binocular integration exhibit the most severe interocular suppression. METHODS Seven subjects with anisome...

Spatio-temporal interactions in anisometropic and strabismic amblyopia.

Contrast sensitivity functions for sinusoidal gratings of different spatial frequencies and stimulus durations have been determined for both eyes of amblyopic subjects. For both long and short stimulus durations, the entire contrast sensitivity function of the amblyopic eyes is lower than that of the nonamblyopic eyes. When the gratings were flickered at 10 Hz, the sensitivity for pattern and f...
